What is Restylane®?
Restalyne® is an injectable dermal filler FDA approved in 2004. Restalyne® restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds).This filler takes the place of collagen, because it lasts longer.
Restylane® has a highly favorable safety profile. It is composed of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid - which is a substance found naturally in the human body.
Restylane® maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® is hydrophilic or "water loving." The body pulls more water to the injected area which does not recognize this product as a"foreign" thus keeping the area full for a longer duration of time.
